This route is the ideal option for families with children and beginners.

Choose between 4 moments of departure: 10 AM (in July and August) / 11 AM / 12 PM / 1.30 PM.
Important: we ask you to turn up 30 minutes beforehand!
You will need 2 h 30 min for this route, but you will be given all the time you want to make the most of your journey.
The first 5 km (3.11 miles) are rather calm. This will allow you to get used to your canoe and the handling of it. On this part of the river you will pass 3 natural slides… These are adapted in order to allow you to pass the river dams. These 3 “slides” will delight young and old.
The second part consists of the short 7 km (4.35 miles) descent with 3 rapids and the passage under the Pont d’Arc.
The advantage of this descent: when you reach the rapids, you will already feel comfortable thanks to the first 5 steady kilometres (3.11 miles) you will have covered!
We ask you to turn up at our Castor Canoë base 30 minutes before the moment of departure you have chosen.
After a free cup of coffee at our reception offered by our friendly staff, your journey can begin… You will be then provided with a waterproof container to store your small and fragile belongings in (mobile phone, photo camera, keys, etc.), which will be stored in a larger 55-litre container in order to assure double waterproofness.
We ask you to arrive on time as the information about the route will be spread amongst the group to create more togetherness!
Naturally, we will show you some landmarks so that you will be able to spend your time on the river the best way possible, making the most of your journey. This will be followed by a basic explanation to help you understand the handling of the canoe-kayak and by some security guidelines. After that, we will decide together at which moment you wish to return: 12 PM – 1 PM – 2 PM – 3 PM – 4 PM – 5 PM – 6 PM – 6.45 PM…
Before you leave, you will be given a buoyancy aid jacket corresponding with your size.
Around thirty minutes after you have passed under the Pont d’Arc, on the left hand side, a red and yellow-coloured sign with number 3 will indicate that you have arrived. The shuttle bus will come and get you at the moment upon which we agreed before the start.
And to finish the day well, you will be offered a cold drink (rosé, squash, etc.) at the reception.
